Hello Beautiful Creative Souls!
SEASHELLS...
I want to show you how you can bring beauty to your home with seashells. I believe seashells are truly artwork created by the divine and I have them all over my house. I also cover furniture with them and sell them in my Angel Store located in Seal Beach.
Please leave me a question or a comment and I will help you in any way I can.
The first set of pictures are from my kitchen. My cabinets don't go all the way up to the ceiling and I wanted to fill in the space in between with something other than fake plants. So I added some beautiful coral. If you try this be sure to secure them with earthquake glue or shim them against the inner edge of the cabinet as I have done here. I got my coral (and all my shells) at:
The Cottage in Seal Beach, CA.. If you have your resale license you can purchase from their wholesale site at: http://wholesale.caseashells.com/
Next are the pieces of coral before I put them up. As you can see I had a couple of them up but when I added more it really just popped.
oops this one didn’t make it :(
Before
After
The following is the chandelier in our kitchen. I got it at a store in Laguna Beach that is no longer there. I’ve seen similar ones on horchow.com.
Now I want to show you our downstairs bathroom. I made the mirror, tissue holder and the nightlight. It's very simple. The only supplies you need are a hot glue gun and the shells you want to glue on your surface. Notice I used all shiny shells on the mirror because I was going for more of a glam look in that room with the red chandelier.
This is our master bathroom aka: my sanctuary. I just used a few pieces in this room and I really like how they complement the Buddha theme I have going in there. I will blog about decorating with Buddhas very soon. I made the candle stick and small vanity mirror. I got the cross from www.thecaliforniacottage.com. I really love the shell mirror because it is a full length mirror and I can use it for getting dressed. I purch didn’t make it. I got it at my store: The Angel Store 130 Main Street Seal Beach, CA 90740 (562) 594-0441.
I also included a lamp I made in our master bedroom. Enjoy!
This is a really simple way to add a unique touch of nature to any side table. I put this piece of coral on a side table in our upstairs landing. I got the candles at my store: The Angel Store
The beautiful painting is by my friend Fabian Perez
http://fabianperez.com/. Please check him out. His work is amazing!
And finally, here is a way to use shells as mulch to keep your plants damp, also look pretty.
These shell “balls” were made by local artisan women in one of my favorite places in Mexico; Zihuatenejo. The word comes from the Nahuatl word Cihuatlan that means "place of women". They look really beautiful in this shell bowl on our coffee table. I got the bowl at Home Goods www.homegoods.com.

Have you ever seen something that you just had to have but had no idea what you were gonna do with it? That what happened when I saw this mirror at Home Goods last weekend. Then it dawned on me that it would be a really cool table top for the new entry way table that we've been looking for but didn't have. Keith totally got my vision and ordered a piece of glass for the top of the mirror and today while buying for a job he's doing he found this amazing urn for the bottom. It looks so cool at night when the light is on because it creates shadows on the ceiling that look like flowers. Once he bolts it down I will fill it with orchids and give you an update. It doesn't always go this smoothly when we collaborate so when it does I have to celebrate.
